Magnetic Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard |
The laptop has a 13.3-inch display that, when it came out, is quite compact. There is also a magnetic Bluetooth Mini Fold Keyboard that can fit on the bottom half of the screen for a full laptop effect, or can be disassembled for use with a fully unfolded screen. When folded off, the keyboard is stored and charged inside the system wirelessly and secured with magnets.

OLED Display |
While taking a break, watch the latest episodes of your favorite series on a bright OLED display with a Dolby audio experience. The screen is manufactured by LG. Lenovo states that durability testing has been "comprehensive", although if a prelude to the past, sometimes some real-world testing is required to put a system through its paces. The folding mechanism is reinforced with a carbon fiber plate. I'm not sure until I get a chance to try it out, but honestly, it's great.

Multitasking |
Lenovo is introducing the ThinkPad X1 Fold as a device for professionals and executives, and should thus be able to perform with the best of them. But, the rub is that we do not know what silicone is hiding behind this laptop.
However, at CES, Lenovo told us that it is an "undeclared Intel processor", making us speculate about what should happen. There are two main possibilities here: Intel Tiger Lake and Lakefield.
The Intel Lakefield processor was teased back at CES 2019, and thus is the perfect candidate for a foldable laptop. The idea is to allow small form-factorized computers to deal with the entire system on one chip (SOC) like the silicon of a phone. It is therefore quite possible that the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold will be the first Lakefield-equipped product on the market, but only time will tell if our speculation is correct.
Pricing and Availability
The ThinkPad X1 Fold with Windows 10 is expected to be available in mid-2020, starting at $ 2499. The Windows 10X version is expected to be available at a later date.
The ThinkPad X1 fold stand is expected to be available in the 2nd half 2020. Pricing will be revealed closer to the launch date.
